Dear Creator

Thank you for making something for me. I’m really excited for this exchange and all the possibilities that come along with it.

A note about my comic book requests. I do the majority of my reading on Marvel Universe or DC Infinite, so I am perpetually around a year behind. For some of my requests this probably won't matter - I doubt Speedball will be showing up in anything anytime soon - and for some it's going matter a lot - Booster and Beetle's new series launched in July and I'll probably be getting the first issue around April. I don't care about spoilers, so if you're reading the newest issues in a timely manner (unlike me) feel free to use anything from them that inspires you. And on the other hand, don't feel like you can't write for me because you're not on top of the latest developments. I'm not either :).

DNW and Likes
DNW*:
    - I would prefer no crossovers or non-canon or setting aus (including things like soulmates, omegaverse, or magical creatures). Canon aus such as House of M or canon divergence aus are both fine.
    - I'm not easily squicked so most any sexual kink is fine, however I'm not really into non-sexual kinks (so for example if someone is getting spanked I'd like it to be about sexual gratification foremost)

*any prompt that contradicts a DNW can be considered an exception you are free to disregard the DNW in that particular case

Likes:
    -close friendships

    -case-fic and action/adventure stories
    -"I Will Find You" tropes
    -The (endless) Road Trip
    -pining (requited not necessary)
    -bed sharing (particularly platonic)

General Info On Mediums

Non-fic Mediums

Food/Drink
I would love food/drinks I can make. One of my favorite “shows” growing up was Dinner and a Movie where these two hosts would show a movie and at the beginning and end of the commercial breaks make food related to the film. That kind of idea always stuck with and I love making food that connects to whatever I’m into. Either in-universe dishes or dishes inspired by fandoms are both things I would love to have gifted to me.

I don't eat red meat or pork, and I think I might be mildly allergic to honeydew so I’ve been trying to avoid it lately, but other than that I'm happy to try anything. I like sweet and/or spicy food a lot.

Spell/Ritual
I’m sort of picturing this as a WB/In-Universe sort of tag as I am unfamiliar with the real world applications, however if you offered this imaging something different than that I would be thrilled to know more!

Knitting/Crochet Pattern (texts)
I've been for a few years now and I love it! I would be thrilled to get a knitting pattern for this exchange. I have attempted crochet and it has not gone great so far, but I'm not giving up and maybe your pattern will be the one I finally figure it out with! I am only requesting the text instructions because I find charts hard to read. I'd say I'm probably between beginner and intermediate level in terms of skills.

Fanart/Comics
I would be happy with any of the art tags listed. For single pieces I like landscapes a lot, particularly of space. I am very fond of the art nouveau style for things like cards and pictures of people. I like art deco and cubism for more abstract works. I really like the way watercolor looks in general.

For comics storyline wise I assume my fic prompts will work pretty well. For style, if you are able, I like the more exaggerated styles (XXXholic's super long limbs, Skottie Young's cartoony-ness as some examples).

Podfic
I drive a lot and I love listening to podfic while I drive. So I would be very very happy to receive podfic. If it's got my requested characters in it I'll like it. I would love podfic my previous gifts or my own fic but really anything you think I might like would be very much appreciated.

Fanmix
I don't have a particular music genre I prefer but I like the music to lean towards reflecting or matching the canon. So for example Richter owns a punk club and introduced Shatterstar to hiphop so for a Richter/Shatterstar fanmix I'd like those genre's to be featured prominently (thought not necessarily exclusively).

Logic Puzzles
I saw these last year and they were so much fun! I don’t really understand how making them works, but I loved it!

Essays
I’m guessing that the Any Essay tag covers most types of meta/analysis be that ship manifestos or discussions of the religious philosophy underlying Spider-man. Both of which I would be thrilled to read. I am unsure if in-universe essays are also meant to be covered in this, but would probably enjoy them too. I really like history and human evolution (or maybe alien evolution in this case) if you're looking to write an in-universe essay and want to know what subjects I'd find interesting.

DC Comics

Michael Carter/Ted Kord

Michael Carter aka Booster Gold, is a thief and a conman from the far future. Ted Kord is a genius inventor. Together they fight crime!

From the first moment they meet in JLI they just clicked and have brought a warmth and levity to every book they were in. Even the really angsty ones that make me cry (looking at you Injustice). They’re best friends who love each other, support each other, rib each other, and will rip apart the fabric of time for each other. They believed in each other and made each other better people, happier people and spending time with their characters is always rewarding.

    Where Can You Find Them:

Books That Are Relevant To Their Story:

    Prompts

      - Getting fake married for a mission that doesn't actually require anyone to be fake married.

      - Ted didn't actually mean to ask Booster to marry him, there was a joke, people were laughing and now Booster is moving into his penthouse.

Arkillo/Guy Gardner

This love affair was brief but hit me exactly in my enemies to lovers spot. They are both of them defined by their loyalty. It’s this common moral ground that lets them build a respect and friendship that could cross the boundaries of the Yellow/Green war (and some pretty big ethical differences). When the tentative peace between their two sides inevitably falls apart with neither one of them willing to give up their loyalty to their respective leaders (and neither one expected or would have accepted such a choice from the other either) they still find a way to maintain that connection and respect. Even as they know one day they might have to kill each other.

    Where Can You Find Them:

Books That Are Relevant To Their Story:

    Prompts

      - People tend to get lost in alternate universes, wiped from history, and temporarily dead all the time. How far would Arkillo or Guy go to get the other back.

      - the difficulties in falling in love with someone who might end up killing one day.

Connor Hawke/Kyle Raynor

Green Arrow II, Connor Hawke, is the illegitimate son of Oliver Queen (Green Arrow I). Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern IV) drunkenly stumbled into an alien giving away power rings. Together they fight crime and their daddy issues!

Both Kyle and Connor have a lot of shared issues. From being abandoned by their fathers as a child to finding themselves in the position of taking on a legacy from someone they didn’t really know, for reasons that were not entirely pure, and the imposter syndrome that came with that. And while they have had very different lives and very different personalities they seemed to find in each other a kindred spirit and an ease with each other that is really nice.

    Where Can You Find Me:

Books That Are Relevant To My Story:

    Prompts

      - Post Rebirth - Wally's back and with him memories of a different life, everyone is talking about how everything is right again, so why does Kyle still feel like something is missing? And how can he find it again if doesn't even know what or who it is? (I am aware that Connor has finally made his return to the DC Universe, but I’d still like your take on it)

      - Connor likes the idea of waiting, of only ever being with one person. (I should add I have a virginity kink, just in case you wanted to go that way)

Dick & Damian

Dick Grayson was the first robin and Bruce’s first son. Damian was Dick’s first Robin, and Bruce’s only progeny. This is probably my favorite relationship in the Batman franchise. I like the way the circumstances of their early relationship means that Dick fills this grey space between being an older sibling and being a parent to Damian. I love works that build on that special bond between the two of them.

Where Can You Find Me:

Books That Are Relevant To My Story:

There are probably a thousand books you can read to get an idea of who these two characters are - Dick Grayson has been in comics for almost 100 years. They share a franchise and cross into each others books and Bruce’s books all the time. For me the book that I like best for the two of them and that builds the basis of their relationship as I see it is:

      Batman And Robin (2001) (https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Batman-and-Robin-2009)

-Canon Divergence post-crisis: What if Bruce never came back and Dick stayed Batman? What new stories can we tell in that period? Who fills out his rogues gallery? Who are his big love interests? What kind of Robin does Damian become if he stays with Dick?

      - It doesn’t matter how bad it is, how desperate the situation is or how far from good Damian has fallen. Dick will always come for him.

Tim Drake/Bernard Dowd

Not going to lie to you, I don’t think I’ve even thought about Bernard in the past fifteen years or so, but I am SO THRILLED he’s back now that he’s here. Their friendship was such fun in Robin, Bernard and Tim are both little conspiracy theory batman nuts, the only difference is Tim is usually right. I love that he and Tim have reunited and found a chance at love with each other. I can’t wait to see where they go next.

    Where Can You Find Me:
Books That Are Relevant To My Story:

    - Eventually Bernard is going to have to find out Tim was Robin. How? And what is his reaction?

    - The second date.

Marvel Comics
Vance Astrovik

Vance Astrovik is a mutant telekinetic whose powers were triggered when his future self came back in time and accidentally altered reality. Hoping to become like his idol Captain America he became the superhero Marvel Boy (he later changed that to Justice - the name is more commonly known as). He was recruited to join the New Warriors, and while he has been an Avenger a few times in the past he always comes back to them.

I really enjoy the early New Warriors work, but there was something about the later years that really spoke to me. This sense of us against the world, but more like only we can really understand what we’ve lost. The later series does a lot with ideas of reputation and redemption, walking the line between the levity of the first few years and the darkness of the Civil War era.

    Where Can You Find Me:

What Books Are Relevant To My Story:

    Prompts

      - What did Vance and Robbie do on their Road Trip.

      - The dropped plots when New Warriors 2014 got cancelled - finding Namorita, Mictlan rises, etc.

      - During the Shatterstar series there is a brief mention of the Noir-verse's New Warriors and now I'm curious. What do you think that looks like for Vance?

Richard Rider (Nova)
Tommy Shepard/David Alleyne

David Alleyne is a mutant who lost his powers following M-day and Tommy is….uh...well...it’s complicated, even by comic book standards. They met working for the same company and became instant friends. When Tommy was abducted by an eldritch being, David joined forces with his twin brother and old teammates to get Tommy back.

I love their fast friendship: David knew Tommy for all of a few days when Tommy was taken and David drops everything to travel across multiple universes to find him. We don't get to see them spend a lot of time together but what we did see was so promising that I was completely sold on the possibilities.

    Where Can You Find Me:

What Books Are Relevant To My Story:

    Prompts

      - Getting married would help them both out on the taxes front, trust David, he knows these things.

      - Young Avengers vol. 1 alludes to experiments being performed on Tommy and others in the mutant detention center, what if someone from that place comes looking for Tommy and it's up to David and his old X-buddies to help him out.

      - So apparently they get exactly 1 and 1/2 drinks in them and start making out, is this just like a drunk thing? Is it a relationship? Do they know? Do they think they know but actually the other one has the opposite impression?

Arthurian Mythology

Arthurian Mythology is more or less what you want it to be, so feel free to delve into your own favorite interpretations and stories with your favorite knights. As my character choices probably indicate I find the Fisher King/Grail Quest of particular interest. I’m interested in the themes of purity and destiny it brings up as well as some of the questions of legacy and the relation between children and the parents they hardly knew that really fills the whole myth from start to finish. I find both stories that lean into the mystic and magic of the myths and stories that attempt to ground it in plausible reality to be really interesting to read.

I am giving you permission to ignore my no setting AU DNW for this fandom because the setting is already vague enough and as long as the general canonish hierarchy/history of the relationships is maintained I will be happy with space or modern or transplanted to china or even probably coffee-shops. Still DNW crossovers though. My favorite English historical period is 500-900 AD if you were looking to write in a "canon" period.

Galahad
Galahad is one of the characters that really brings all my thematic interests together. He has the legacy of Lancelot, the destiny of the Siege Perilous, and the question of what makes one “pure.” How these things affect him, how he feels about them, how he runs from or embraces them are all interesting questions to explore.

Prompts

    - Questing! What's an Authurian story without dangerous forests and maidens in distress and always great peril to be overcome with kindness, honor, and friendship (or "friendship")

    - Destiny and prophesy holds Galahad down and drags him to his end point, but what are some of the moments when destiny could have been averted, when the choices that could have set him free were made and did he ever really have those choices or were all roads eventually leading to his prophesied end?

Percival
I really like the Stranger in Strange Land trope that is attached to Percival. He’s someone who doesn’t quite belong and doesn’t quite understand the rules of the court and how that works both to his benefit and detriment. His upbringing has made him fairly unique among Arthur’s knights, not because he was chosen or destined, but just because of a difference in understanding the ways of the world.

Prompts

    - setting aus of the Fisher King? how do you tell the story in space, with software engineers, in the 1920s, etc? (No crossovers or fusions please)

    - Questing! What's an Authurian story without dangerous forests and maidens in distress and always great peril to be overcome with kindness, honor, and friendship (or "friendship")

Supernatural

Supernatural is a show about two brothers who fight monsters. I started watching this all the way back in 2007 and have been watching it on and off for the past 13 years. The finale reminded me how much I loved this show, particularly the early seasons. I find the dynamic between the brothers and the tension around their father to be so fascinating and I loved loved loved the horror genre coating over everything.

    Where Can You Find Me:

      Netflix, anywhere DVDs are sold.

Sam Winchester & Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester/Dean Winchester
      - Anything about Sam and Dean's childhood would make me happy. A case from their childhood or teenage years maybe.

      - Holiday themed story - either pre-canon or at some point during the shows run. A birthday or an Easter or Thanksgiving maybe. Maybe a Christmas Carol rif, hunting the ghost of Christmas Past.

      - I love ghost stories, so any case fic centered around a ghost/haunting would be great.

Sam Winchester/Jessica Moore, Sam Winchester/Jessica Moore & Dean Winchester
      - How did Sam and Jessica meet? What was her first impression of him? What did she assume about his family and his childhood?

      - What did Dean think of Sam and Jessica when he was swinging by Stanford to spy on Sam?

      - Au where Dean doesn’t come to get Sam and Jessica doesn’t die and about 2 years later everyone who was at the Stanford Library on April 23rd is dead and Sam has vanished without a trace. Lost for what to do, Jess reaches out to the only person who might possibly be able to help - the brother Sam barely spoke about.

Jack Kline & Dean Winchester Jr.

      - Jack has a strict non-interference policy. That was the problem with Chuck after all, wanted too much control, kept getting involved in the story. But maybe there can be exceptions.

      - 5 times Dean prayed to Jack and 1 time Jack answered (or inversely 5 times Dean prayed to Jack and 1 time he didn’t answer)

    Castiel

      - I'd love to explore Cas' time as a human in more depth. We know that food taste different to Angel's and I assume there are other things like that. So like something about him discovering his preference for things would be cool.

      - I'd be interested in a story that looked Cas's garrison before the Winchester came. Between Uriel being a traitor and Anna and Balthazar's defections it must have been a very interesting group of people.

    Sam Winchester/Castiel

      - Possession stories - maybe a season 9 au Gadreel was not kidding around about the only way to save Sam was by possessing him and Cas has to convince Sam to let him in after everything Sam just went through.

      - Time Travel fix it where Cas goes back to find away to stop Sam from ending up in the Cage.

    World Building

-This one I leave up to you. SPN's world is so vast and so inconsistent that are lots of cracks and holes for you to dig your teeth into!
